As of Jan. 7, 2012, the kiosk at Toll House Park on Little River Turnpike in the heart of Annandale was displaying a flyer for the Annandale Fall Festival and Parade, which took place last October. Not many people walk around central Annandale, but still . . . What does this say about our community?
We’re not trying to dump on Annandale’s boosters. There are some dedicated people involved with the Annandale Central Business District Planning Committee who take pride in making sure all the “acorn” street lights are working properly and the landscaping is maintained. The Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors the festival and parade, also is concerned about Annandale’s image. We just want whoever is responsible for the “Annandale Village Center” kiosk to correct this embarrassing oversight. If you don’t have anything new to post, how about an Annandale blog flyer?
