Kids' Stuff Consignment Sale benefits Annandale families

Why waste your hard-earned money on new clothes and toys your kids will quickly outgrow when you can get a great deal on “previously owned” things?

Smart shoppers will gather early on Saturday, May 5, for the popular Kids' Stuff Consignment Sale at Annandale United Methodist Church, Wright Hall, 6935 Columbia Pike, Annandale. Its open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This twice-yearly event offers a large variety of children’s clothing (newborn - size 8), shoes, toys, books, strollers, media, bikes, highchairs, nursing gear, room decor, maternity clothing, swimwear, outerwear, sporting goods, games, and much more.

“The quality of these gently used items is very high, and the prices are much lower than you would find in retail stores,” says Heidi Gallacher, one of the organizers. “This is the ultimate way to recycle items that one family no longer needs and send them to a new home.”

Another benefit: The profits all stay in Annandale. Merchandise is sold on a consignment basis, with revenues split among the seller’s family and the church’s Weekday Children’s Program, which uses the funds for new equipment and enrichment programs.

At the end of the sale, any items left over will be donated to neighborhood charities and elementary schools for the benefit of low-income families.

The sale is cash only. Bring your own bags. Most items are half price after 12:15 p.m.
