Calhoun named principal of Suart HS

Prosperanta Calhoun has been appointed as principal of Stuart High School, effective July 2, Dan Parris, Cluster III assistant  superintendent announced in a June 22 letter to the Stuart community.

“Calhoun has served as an assistant principal at Herndon High School since 2005. She began her teaching career in Fairfax within the Stuart pyramid, teaching math at Glasgow Middle School from 1992 to1996. She later taught math at Hughes Middle School before beginning her administrative career as an assistant principal at Herndon Middle School.

Calhoun earned a BA degree at Jacksonville University and a Master’s degree at George Mason University. She further developed her leadership training experiences through participation in both Fairfax’s LEAD program and the Aspiring Principals cohort, Parris says. She is fluent in three languages.

  2. Deirdre Lavery is still the principal at Glasgow Middle School. Pamela Jones retired as principal of JEB Stuart. Ms. Calhoun is replacing Mrs. Jones.
