Body of missing teen, Bryan Glenn, found in woods

The body of missing Woodson High School senior, Bryan Glenn, was found this afternoon by people searching for clues to his disappearance, WUSA 9News reported.

Glenn’s body was found in the woods near his parked car in Thaiss Park on Pickett Road, Fairfax. Police have not announced a cause of death or explained why it had been overlooked by earlier search parties.

Glenn, 17, had been missing since the morning of Monday, Oct. 1, and his car was found in Thaiss Park the following morning. A vigil was held at Woodson High School on Saturday, and since the death was reported, expressions of grief have been pouring in to the “Find Bryan Glenn” Facebook group.

Bryan Glenn's parents, Mike and Rosella Glenn issued the following statement:

With tremendous sadness in our hearts, we learned this afternoon of our son Bryans death. This devastating news has been a great shock to our family and friends. Right now this family and our community are grieving and we need to let the investigation run its course.

Thanks to everyone in the community and around the globe who offered their love, prayers, and support to our family over the past week. Your kindness has given us strength during this difficult time and has touched our hearts forever. Our family would like to express our profound gratitude to the hundreds of volunteers and search team leads. Special thanks to the media and Fairfax area businesses for their continued support.

Update: The West Springfield Police announced Oct. 10 that “The remains found by volunteer searchers on Monday, Oct. 8, at approximately 1:50 p.m., have been positively identified as 17-year-old Bryan Glenn. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Office of the State Medical Examiner.”

A PayPal account has been set up in case people would like to make donations to help the Glenn family with funeral and private investigator expenses.
