Convenience store planned for Hess gas station in Annandale

A convenience store is coming to the Hess gas station at 7100 Little River Turnpike at John Marr Drive in central Annandale. The shop will be like a 7-Eleven, offering beer and wine, as well as food items and basic necessities.

The gas station will close for three months, starting at the end of the year, says manager James Thomas. The current building will be torn down to make way for the new facility, which will have a totally different layout

  1. Wow, I am surprised about Hess leaving.

In the Washington Post Local Living section (pg. 24) yesterday it said a pharmacy is going to be built at 4300 Backlick Road. Do they mean the new Walgreens or is this something else?

  2. Hess is not leaving. It is adding a store to the gas station - sort of like the store at the BP station on Columbia Pike at John Marr. The items in the WP about Walgreen's is referring to the one going up on the Fuddrucker's site.

  3. When are they closing for renovations? I need to stock-up on death sticks.
