Chakaboom Fitness offers Zumba classes at Annandale Fire Station

Zumba in Annandale
There are more options for exercise in Annandale since Chakaboom Fitness started offering Zumba classes at the Annandale Fire Station in February.

Zumba is an intense cardio workout with Latin-style dance moves. The Annandale classes are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 7-8 p.m., in the John Fox Jr. Memorial Hall at the back of the fire station at 7128 Columbia Pike.

Chakaboom Fitness began holding fitness classes at the Franconia Fire Station in 2011 and later expanded to the Burke Fire Station. In Franconia, there are 150 to 200 people in each Zumba class, said founder and instructor Leo Lins, a native of Brazil. He hopes to add more times and new types of classes in Annandale.

The first class is free. After that it’s $7 for a single class or you can purchase packages with the cost of classes ranging from $4 to $6. You don’t have to sign up in advance; just show up.
