Homicide in Springfield



Fairfax County Police are investigating a homicide in the Springfield area. Officers were called about 10 p.m., Saturday, May 24, to the area of Backlick Road and Highland Street (just outside the beltway) for the report of a man lying in the roadway, possibly struck by a vehicle.

Officers determined the 24-year-old victim had “an injury to the upper body, not consistent with a vehicle crash.” He was transported to the hospital where he later died. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, who are located outside the country.

  1. The deceased victim has been identified as Junior Abel Flores, 24, of the Springfield area, the Police Department announced May 27.

  2. He was not struck by ancar they were stab wounds .
