Queen of Apostles hosts 5K and international festival May 31

Queen of Apostles Catholic School in Lincolnia is planning two big community events on May 31: a 5K and one-mile fun run and an International Festival.

The “Soar Like an Eagle” 5K winds through residential streets on a USA Track and Field-certified course. It starts at 8 a.m. at the school’s parking lot, at 4409 Sano Drive. The one-mile fun run starts at 8:20 a.m. Runners can register online.

The evening before the run, Queen of Apostles is hosting a pasta dinner and silent auction, open to the public, 5:30-8:30 p.m. ($10; $6 for kids). Runners can pick up their packets at the dinner or early on the day of the race. Post-race festivities include a dance performance and sports demonstrations.

The International Festival features live entertainment, 10:15 a.m.-3 p.m., May 31, including Chinese dragon dancers, the Boyle School of Irish Dance, Halau Hula o Ke Aneunue Punahele Hawaiian dancers, Andean music, Salangai Arts, Zumba, Flying Eagles, and more. There will be an international food court and a fun zone for kids with rock climbing, train rides, obstacle course, and other activities. Tickets are $30 per family for the food court and $10 per child for the fun zone.
