After armed robbery, suspects crash getaway car

A police pursuit ended in a crash and arrests at Annandale Road/Gallows Road at about 6 p.m. on Nov. 27, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.

Fairfax County police officers were alerted about an armed robbery at a Shell gas station at 11090 Lee Highway in the City of Fairfax, located the suspect vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop, led police on a chase, and crashed. The police helicopter and K9 unit assisted in the apprehension of three suspects. Several minor injuries were reported.

Fairfax City Police charged Corey Rogers, 22; Joshua Smith, 22; and Delante Turner, 27, with robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a robbery. Rogers is a resident of Washington, D.C., according to Fairfax City Police, and the others’ addresses are “undetermined.”  They were transported to the Adult Detention Center where they were ordered held without bond.

Fairfax County Police also report an armed robbery at a Shell station in the 6519 block of Arlington Boulevard (near South Street) at about 12:23 p.m. on Nov. 29. A man came into the office, produced a handgun, and demanded money. An employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect fled on foot.

The suspect was described as white, 25-30 years old, of average build, with a beard, and wearing a dark baseball cap, and a gray shirt. If you’ve got any information about this, call the police non-emergency number, 703-691-2131.
