Cartons can now be recycled

Cartons can now be recycled in Fairfax County – which means they won’t pile up in landfills. These include packaging for products like juice, milk, cream, egg substitutes, soy milk, broth, and wine – including shelf-stable and refrigerated cartons.

Remove the caps and straws from empty cartons and place them in your recycling bin. Cartons are made from in-demand, high-quality paper and can be converted into pulp for recycled paper products and building materials, which means they can generate revenue for the recycling program.

  1. Where is the landfill in Fairfax County? I thought they burned for energy all the trash at the Covanta facility in Lorton. The only construction landfill I'm aware of is in Lorton and is closing. but that doesn't take trash.
