New store to open next to Annandale Giant

The empty storefront being renovated at 7133D Columbia Pike, Annandale, next to Giant is going to be a Korean department store, mostly selling housewares and health items.

It's really big inside.
The shop, expected to open later this summer, will stock things like rice cookers, other cookware, blankets and comforters, vitamins, and ginseng, reports a contractor working on the building.

The space, between the Gom Ba Woo restaurant and Speedy Laundromat, was formerly occupied by the Seoul Garden restaurant. Before that, it was the short-lived Jiggle Jiggle BBQ.

  1. Be careful when purchasing electrical items from Asian stores, many of them do not have UL certification.

  2. They are probably LG and Samsung so no worry there.

    1. Samsung stuff breaks down all the time; LG doesn't. Speaking as an owner of a Samsung washer & dryer, and a couple of phones - every one has had an issue except my latest phone, but I've only had it for 2 months so the jury is still out.

    2. LG and Samsung are owned by the same family, essentially its the same company. Look at the controls on ea manufacturer's washers, there the same just dressed differently. Just another hoax on the american consumer. I have LG and I like it allot but I wish it was made in America. The whirlpool products are just not as good. Make America Great Again, I don't think we can!

  3. Will they tolerate the lady who feeds all the pigeons in the parking lot?

  4. Seems like another junk store in the dump.

  5. Meh - in Penny Gross's Mason District world, we have much larger retail spaces like the old A&P/Magruder's/Bloom space on Columbia Pike that has stayed vacant for years. More interested in finding a tenant for that space than learning about another hole-in-the-wall where you can buy a Korean rice maker.
