Annandale HS Marching Atoms need your support

Annandale HS marching band members Nicky, Ben, and Noah perform for shoppers at the Bradlick Shopping Center.
Annandale High School band members have been entertaining shoppers at various locations around the community in an effort to encourage the public to contribute to the school’s music programs. Band members also went door-to-door seeking donations on Tag Day Sept. 10.

The AHS bands need the funds to supplement what it gets from Fairfax County Public Schools for things like trips, instruments, other equipment, uniforms, and additional instructors, says Mike Lauler, pit crew chief for the Annandale Band Boosters, who was overseeing a trio of Marching Atoms at the Giant in the Bradlick Shopping Center Sept. 11.

The Band Boosters raise money for the marching band, orchestra, jazz band, and other music programs. Donations can be made online.

Here’s another way to support the AHS bands: The Marching Atoms will perform on the field during halftime at a D.C. United game at RFK Stadium on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 7:30 p.m. If people buy tickets to the game using this link, a portion of the ticket price will be donated to the Band Boosters.
