Armed robberies in Annandale

A 26-year-old woman was robbed while walking on a sidewalk on the 4500 block of Little River Run Drive in Annandale at about 11:15 p.m. on Jan. 18, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.

A man approached her, displayed a handgun, and demanded her property. The suspect took her bag and ear phones and ran off toward Aspen Hill Court. She was unhurt. He was described as black, approximately 28-34 years old, about 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a thin build. His face was covered.

On Jan. 19, at about 11:30 a.m., there was an armed robbery at the Cash for Gold store at 7262 Columbia Pike, Annandale.

The suspect displayed a handgun and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries. The suspect is described as a tall, thin black male.

“There hasn’t been an increase in armed robberies,” a police spokesperson says. “It ebbs and flows. We don’t know why.”

  1. More crime here! The wall cannot come sooner. Can we throw all the criminals out of Mason and send them ( and I don't care what nationality they are ) for re-processing; like picking oranges.

    1. Agreed! Arrest them all and deport!

  2. I live nearby. If it was me walking and attacked, he will regret it
