Annandale man arrested for attempted bank robbery

Officers from the Mason Police District arrested Montrell Richardson, 41, of Annandale May 25, at around 11 a.m., following an attempted bank robbery, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.

Richardson is suspected of trying to rob the BB&T Bank at 6120 Arlington Blvd., in the Willston Shopping Center in Seven Corners.

Police were called after he passed a note to employees demanding money. He fled before receiving any cash. When officers spotted him in the area, he fled but was apprehended.


An investigation determined Richardson is also suspected of attempting to rob a Capitol One Bank at 6367 Seven Corners Center on May 15. In that incident, the teller refused to hand over any cash and the suspect left the bank.

Richardson was transported to the Adult Detention Center and charged with two counts of attempted robbery.

In other crime news, a man was walking on the 2700 block of Arlington Boulevard in Falls Church at around 4 p.m. on May 25 when he was approached by a teenage boy who pointed a weapon at him and demanded money. The victim confronted the suspect who then fled with his friends who were nearby. The suspect was described as Hispanic, heavy set, with short hair. The victim was not injured.

  1. Looks like we have another piece of crap living in Mason, probably in a boarding house. Probably should move him into one of our luxury homeless shelters, since Mason is now the capital of crap.

  2. "Capital of Crap". Is that something we can parlay into a destination theme? Or maybe Dysfunction District? The future of Globalization? Mission Impossible? Never give up, keep digging, we must be close to the bottom. When our hopes for becoming a destination include combining retail with tractor trailer parking and human trafficking, it cant get much worse.
