The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors on June 20 approved fare increases for the Fairfax Connector, to take effect on June 25.

Regular bus fares will increase from $1.75 to $2, if paying by SmarTrip or cash. The base fare for seniors and people with disabilities will increase from 85 cents to $1.
Express fares will also increase, from $4 to $4.25 for routes 393, 394, and 395. The senior and disabled fare will rise from $2 to $2.10 for those routes and from 85 cents to $3.75 for route 599.

The fare for bus-to-bus transfers will increase from $1.75 to $2 for regular routes and from $4 to $4.25 for express routes.

The Metrorail-to-bus transfer rate will increase from $1.25 to $1.50 if paying by SmarTrip card and from $1.75 to $2 if using cash. For seniors and the disabled, the Metrorail-to-bus fare will go from 35 cents to 50 cents with a SmarTrip card and to $1 if paying cash. Metrorail-to-bus transfers for express routes will increase, too.

The Connector fare increases are being made in conjunction with Metrobus and Metrorail fare increases that also take effect on June 25.
