Democrats select Kincaid as candidate for Fairfax County Sheriff

Fairfax County Democrats selected Stacey Kincaid as candidate for Fairfax County Sheriff. Kincaid got 605 of the votes cast compared to 351 for Mark Sites in a caucus July 23 at Woodson High School.

If she wins in the general election on Nov. 5, Kincaid would be the first woman sheriff of Fairfax County. She has worked in various capacities in the Sheriff’s Office since 1987.

Kincaid was able to get more endorsements than Sites, the current sheriff, including the Fairfax Deputy Sheriffs Union, the Virginia 512 unit of the Service Employees International Union, and Fairfax County Professional Firefighters and Paramedics.

The Fairfax County Republican Committee is expected to select Bill Cooper as candidate for sheriff.
