Tomorrow is Election Day: Here's what you need to know

Many people already voted, but if you’ve held off until Election Day, here’s what you need to know before heading out to the polls on Tuesday.

Voters will elect a governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, House of Delegates member, and Fairfax County sheriff and will have a chance to vote yes or no on a $250 million Fairfax County school bond. Review a sample ballot before voting.

The polls are open 6 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 5. If you need to know your polling place, click here.

You’ll need to bring a valid form of identification, such as a Virginia voter registration card; valid Virginia driver’s license; military ID; federal, Virginia state, or local government-issued ID; employer-issued photo ID card; concealed handgun permit; valid student ID issued by any institution of higher education in Virginia; a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, or paycheck indicating the name and address of the voter. A Social Security card is acceptable under certain circumstances.

The school bond includes $20.88 million for a new school in the Bailey’s Crossroads/Seven Corners area; funds to renovate 22 schools, including $14.45 million for Ravensworth Elementary School and $17.23 million for North Springfield Elementary School; and $24.63 million for infrastructure improvements countywide.
