Help the Mason District Little League reach its fundraising goal by contributing to the league’s first annual Hit-a-Thon May 9 and 10.
The MDLL is hoping to raise $16,000 so it can upgrade its aging equipment, get new uniforms, make improvements to the field and cage, pay for umpires, and provide scholarships to needy families.
A hit-a-thon is similar to a walk-a-thon. Each player solicits sponsors who pledge to make a tax-deductible donation to MDLL. Pledges can be a flat donation or can be based on the distance a player hits a baseball. If a team member approaches you, please be generations. You can also make donations online.
You can also join the fun and cheer on the players at the Hit-a-Thon on Friday, May 9, 5:30 p.m., at Mason District Park in Annandale, and Saturday, May 10, 9 a.m., at Parklawn Park.
Teams, coaches, and individual players can win trophies and earn prizes for reaching certain fundraising goals. Prizes include gift cards from Dick’s Sporting Goods, tickets to Washington Nationals games, and a laser tag team party at Ultrazone.
