Annandale is getting a new coffee shop

The Manoa bakery and café on Little River Turnpike in the Annandale Plaza Shopping Center could open as early as May 15, says Eun Ji Kim, who owns it with her husband, Min Kim. Manoa is in the space formerly occupied by another bakery, Le Matin de Paris, which closed last fall. New floors and kitchen equipment have been installed, but much work needs to be done.

The Kims also own Rainbow Caterers, next door at 7326-B Little River Turnpike, which also offers take-out food.

Manoa will serve baked goods, coffee, tea, and various lunch items, such as pasta, sandwiches, and paninis. The menu will have both Korean and American-style food, all of it homemade, organic, with natural food colorings, Eun says. It will have seating for 71 people, free WiFi, and will be open 7 a.m.-10 p.m. most days and until midnight on weekends.

  1. How nice! I like Beanetics a lot, but I'll be sure to stop by this place, too.

  2. From its name I am wondering whether or not there is some Hawaiian influence at play. Wondering if there will be some da kine sweets? Kona coffee? Looking forward to giving Manoa a try.

  3. That's great news. It's a super convenient location for people heading towards the Beltway! Good luck to the Kims!
