Falls Church HS students achieve Eagle Scout rank

Brand-new Eagle Scouts (from the left): Kendall Trautz, Andrew Jackson, and Ian Stocking.
Three Falls Church High School seniors, Kendall Trautz, Andrew Jackson, and Ian Stocking, received the Eagle Scout Award, the highest achievement in the Boy Scouts, on May 2.

All three are members of Troop 1532 based at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Annandale, and all three started as Tiger Cubs in 2002 and advanced through the ranks from Cub Scout to Webelo to Boy Scout, reports Jim Stocking.

To earn the Eagle rank, a scout must earn at least 21 merit badges and demonstrate leadership and community service by organizing and implementing an Eagle project. Ian Stocking carried out a bridge/trail restoration project at Villa Lee Park in Fairfax. Trautz improved the entrance to the stadium at Falls Church High School, and Jackson conducted a walkway/stair improvement project at the access area to the school’s practice fields.
