|The Annandale bowling center will be totally redone.|
The Bowlero Corp.’s $2.5 million renovation of the Annandale bowling alley is expected to start in late spring.
When completed, it will be an “eatertainment” center with “the largest bar in Annandale,” a full kitchen with an executive chef, and “the largest game arcade in Northern Virginia” with 120 high-tech games, says Andrew Keys, general manager.
The bar and restaurant will have waiters and a more extensive menu. There won’t be a snack bar.
In the bowling area, all the chairs and tables will be replaced with lounge seating. The check-in station, rental shoes, floors, bathrooms, bowling pins, and balls will all be upgraded or replaced.
Keys says Bowlero CEO Tom Shannon grew up in Annandale, so he is going all out on this project.
The only things that won’t be be replaced are the actual bowling lanes, which Keys says are among the smoothest on the East Coast.
The new center will be available for corporate events and private parties, as well as bowling leagues.
Customers shouldn’t expect a price increase. “The prices now are what they will be,” Keys says, and there will continue to be specials.
Currently there’s a $2 Tuesday night special with $2.22 for games, beer, Long Island iced tea, and tacos; and $20 for four hours of bowling on Fridays, 9 p.m.-1 a.m.
