Mark Naylor wins the Taste of Annandale 5K

Mason Supervisor Penny Gross presents a medal to Taste of Annandale 5K winner Mark Naylor. 
Mark Naylor won the Taste of Annandale 5K for the third year in a row. The 36-year-old Annandale resident completed the race with a clock time of 19:35.1.

That was slower than his time last year (18:11.9) but good enough to beat 134 other runners in the Oct. 5 race, a major component of the Taste of Annandale street festival.

Kyle Grimsley, 31, of Springfield, came in second with a time of 19:50.7, and Duane Novotni, 40, of Fairfax, was third, coming in at 19:55.6.

The fastest woman, was Rachel Kuprenas, who came in sixth-place overall. Kuprenas, 26, of Annandale had a time of 21:26.5, and was also the top woman in last year’s Taste of Annandale 5K.

Daniela Raik, 43, of Annandale, was the second-fastest woman with a clock time of 23:42.0, and Robin Hersh, 39, of Arlington, was third at 23:49.8.

Male: Edwin Sherman, 40, Alexandria – 21:37
Female: Kate Mattice, 48, Burke – 27:17.5

Male: Jose Sejas, 54 – 20:10.1
Female: Sushila Nanda, 58 – 24:22.9
