Annandale man arrested for firearm violation

A firearm incident in the 7400 block of Little River Turnpike in Annandale Jan. 13 led to the arrest of Baxon Hwang, 70, the Fairfax County Police Department reports.

A man was working at an apartment complex with a leaf blower at about 2 p.m. when Hwang reportedly ran out of an apartment, grabbed him by the jacket, displayed a gun, and threatened the victim. Hwang was charged with abduction and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

In other crime news, a man stole merchandise from a 7-Eleven at 3827 S. George Mason Drive in Bailey’s Crossroads at about 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 13. When confronted by the clerk and other customers, he became belligerent. He ran from officers when they attempted to arrest him but was located nearby.

Michael Sammey, 26, of Alexandria, was arrested and charged with two counts of larceny and disorderly conduct.

Charleston Alexander Jewelers at 5924 Leesburg Pike in Bailey’s Crossroads was broken into just after midnight on Jan. 14 but nothing appears to have been taken.

  1. We really need to ship this crap out of Mason to do hard labor. Like picking up the litter on our streets, cleaning the curbs, cutting the grass and training them to be respectable citizens for their parents did a lousy job.
