It was invented in Britain and brought over blade by blade by pilgrims who travelled on the Mayflower (a nuisance found on modern lawns) to land on Plymouth Lawn. Using rakes, they struggled violently over their turf with the natives whom they called red indians for their wild and unkempt lawns, until Thanksgiving when both sides built the first picnic table on the lawn and sat down together for a meal. Then you get green cover, and also those rope-like tendrils invading every square inch. Dandelions are too seasonal. With any luck you'll get plenty of clover and prickle bushes too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6246743662284890173.post-75983147718489421372013-04-09T21:09:58.372-04:002013-04-09T21:09:58.372-04:00That blip you just heard was me sinking that low l...That blip you just heard was me sinking that low lying atoll somewhere in the Pacific as the climate warms and sea levels rise as the result of my John Deere. What's next no cookouts? Bigger crabs for us they say in the Bay, it's MY American dream don't spoil it. You could even have a vegetable garden. There will be work involved in all of these alternatives (especially the veggies), but once they get going, it's easy peasy. Spread some mulch to damp down the weeds, and enjoy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6246743662284890173.post-68775243726838208612013-04-09T10:33:20.266-04:002013-04-09T10:33:20.266-04:00All right, I will bite. I am interested in spending as little time and money as possible... Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
